Chaka Khan

Chaka and Micki came from the same place and time. Both came up in the ultra-creative music, art and political scene of the 60’s in Chicago. Micki followed Chaka in his migration to NYC and many thought that he was even Chaka’s brother as they seemed inseparable. Chaka was another committed client and perfect muse for whom Micki created iconic fashions. In her designs, he crafted an updated indigenous style in deerskin, suede and leather with feathers, beads, fur, fringe and studding, helped create the look that propelled Chaka into the pantheon of Soul, Jazz. Pop and Rock N’ Roll.
