Michael Jackson
The “King of Pop” was an icon and long admired artist to Micki when he met him on the set of his video shoot for the “Bad” album. Michael and Micki were introduced by Steve Stevens, the soaring guitarist from the Billy Idol band. Steve is featured on the track “Dirty Diana''. While working with Michael in the studio, Steve wore original Micki “suits” each day (as was his habit) prompting Michael to ask him where he purchased these distinctive outfits. Each suit was a 2 piece outfit in skin tight leather with zippers and buckles adorning the legs and sleeves. This was a look Micki personified for Steve with the band, Billy Idol. Michael couldn’t resist. He asked Micki to give him a tough, Rock N’ Roll look similar to Steve’s, only “Michaelized”. Thus the “Bad” look was born. Straps on the legs and arms with shiny, western buckles. Over the years, Micki created very special items for Michael including, a black leather jacket with white piping and original V8 insignia as clasps, a black leather jacket with calf skin facings, a red leather, fringed jacket with zippers and a black patent leather suit with military finishings featured in the “HIStory” film.
